The main aim of this review is to analyse the current scientific bibliography about Deep brain Stimulation of the Globus Pallidus Internus on the reduction of tics and associated comorbidities from Gilles de la Tourette Syndrome.Ī systematic review of several scientific articles was done checking (February-March, 2017) MedLine, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science and Cochrane databases. Deep brain Stimulation, accepted as treatment for other diseases, it is reserved for severe cases and pharmacoresistant patients, even though it still remains on the experimental field for this pathology. Gilles de la Tourette syndrome is a neuropsyquiatric disorder characterized by tics and comorbidities which starts during the infancy.
